Most successful people have structures in their lives that help keep them focused on their goals and moving in a positive direction. Identify three of your own favorite positive supports – three motivators in your life that give you energy to work toward positive goals. Some examples may include your religion or faith, your family, your friends, hobbies, music, art, or sports.
Using all the writing skills you have learned, type a five-paragraph essay describing your three positive supports. Be sure to include an introduction and a conclusion paragraph in addition to three, well-developed body paragraphs describing the importance of the three supports in your life.

~Inspirations~
Three of the most important people that inspire me to keep going in school and in life are my mother, my father and my little sister. These people mean a lot to me because they have been there for me and with me most of my life. They motivate to overcome all the barriers in my life. My parents help me out however they can whenever I need something. My little sister motivates me to achieve my goals in life and in school by always being there to give me her love and kindness.
The first person that inspires me to keep going in school and in life is my mother. She has always been there with me ever since I can remember. My mother has always told me that to be successful in this life you have to work hard and never give up. She has always tried to be there for me when I most need her. I will always remember her as one of the most important persons in my life.
The second person that inspires me to keep going in school and in life is my father He has always motivated me to do my best in school and to always try my hardest. My father has always told me that if I don’t want to end up in a job like his that I should stay in school and graduate. He has always helped me in all the ways he can, whether it is financially or economically. My father has always tried to teach me what he knows and is always there to give me good advice when I need it.
The last motivation in my life would be my little sister. My little sister is always there to give me a hug after I get out of school and when I leave for school. When my little sister does this, she motivates me to go to school and do my best. She inspires me in many different ways. One of the ways is by her giving me her kindness and her love. Another way she inspires me is by her always trying to cheer me up when I have had a bad day or when I am mad.
These three persons I have written about are not only my inspirations in school and in life but also the most important people in my life. My first hope is that these three people never let me down in life because they are the most important persons to me. My second hope is that my mother, my father and my little sister are always there to motivate me and inspire me. My last hope is that they are always there for me and that they will give me their love and care.

The Things In My Life That Keep Me Going
Every day when I wake up at exactly 5:30, I listen to any instrumental song that I have, and I write a verse or a hook to that song. During the writing period, my dad wakes up and goes to his daily yoga class at 6:00. He doesn’t get home until 7:30, so I would have already called my mom and gone to school. As you can see, my three inspirations in life are music, my dad, and my mom.
Music is my passion. Writing music is a daily tradition for me, and I love every second of it. Every day when I wake up, when I come home from school, and before I go to bed I write more and more music to the instrumentals that I have. When I get home from school around noon time, I go straight to my room and work on my music. My dad gets home around two in the afternoon and knows not to disturb me for another hour or two after he gets home. He usually says goodnight to me around eight or nine because he knows I’m going to be in my room by then, and I don’t need any distractions.
Another reason I’m still succeeding in life is because my dad is there for me and always has been since day one. I remember like it was yesterday when he was teaching me how to throw a football, and now I am the star quarterback for my flag football team. But we had a falling out about a year ago when I ran away. He didn’t even bother calling the authorities on me; he went to go look for me himself. After about two days of looking, he came home to find me sitting on the couch crying my eyes out. He ran over to me and cried right with me. Ever since then we have had the best father-son relationship ever.
The last but definitely not least thing that keeps me going in life is my mom. My mom has also been there for me. I have told my mom everything about every girlfriend I have ever had, and she has given me advice and tips on how to keep that girl or told me if that girl is any good at all. It seems to me as if my mom is always right and always will be. My mom and I have never had a problem with each other and never will. She has truly showed me that I really am a “momma’s boy”.
If it wasn’t for music, my father, and my mother, I can pretty much guarantee that I wouldn’t be where I am now. So I thank those things for putting me where I am now. I definitely need those people and things to succeed in life.

My Life My Positive
Supporters
The sun shines though the blind of my windows with the cold winds touching my face, and my alarm turns on. I start looking for my alarm clock to stop. At the same time, my grand mum opens the door. My special motivators are my grand mum, my uncle and my mum.
My greatest motivator is my grand mum. Her name is K——–. She taught me my religion, my living style, and my relationship with my parents, friends, and others. When I am really angry with someone or something, she calms me down, and that way I start to care about others. She taught me to love and care. I love my grand mum because she made me what I am now. Whenever I see her, my anger breaks down, and it happens automatically. But why? Maybe it is her love towards me.
As my second motivator, my uncle whose name is Y—– N—– is a medical doctor and he always wants me to become something in my life. So he wants me to concentrate on my studies and school work. He tries to work with me and my studies. Whenever I am with him, I feel very comfortable in my work, and I love to work with him.
My last, but not the least motivator is my mum R—– L—. She motivated me through the work I do at home. For example, she taught me washing and cooking. She thinks that when she is not present, I would not be able to do my own work. She sits with me n talks to me. Once I asked a question to her about why she was teaching me all these things? She told me that you are a grown up kid, and later on you have to go to college! You will be alone doing things on your own. Then I got to understand that why my mum motivated me to learn all the things I need to know in my future.
In conclusion, I would like to say that I have many more motivators, but the best and the most important are my grand mum, my uncle, and my mum. I hope they will go on with me like this.

Necessities
Everyone needs things and people for positive support and motivation in their lives. There are many factors in my life that have positively motivated me. The three main ones are my mom, my nephew Jacob, and music. All three are necessary and have helped in many ways.
My mom is my most important motivator. No matter what I do in life, she has always been positive towards what I do. Whether I’m doing well, or I’m not living up to my best abilities, she is always by my side and would never leave me. She constantly reminds me how intelligent, talented and beautiful I am and what I can become in the future. I know without my mom I wouldn’t last, so just her presence is all the motivation I need.
My three and a half year old nephew Jacob always puts a smile on my face. Ever since he was born, I wanted to excel in life so I could be the best role model for him I could be. I want to be there for him his whole life, and in order to do that I must go to school and be successful. For example, he has inspired me; I want to do the same. I know he will always motivate me, and I want to motivate him in his future.
Lastly, music takes me away and certain songs motivate me in different ways. My two favorite genres are rock and rap; they’re both with me whether I’m happy or upset, and can help me through some situations. Certain songs also pertain to certain parts of my life, and there’s a wide variety in life and music! When I listen to music, it takes me on a level no thing or person ever can, and that’s a major form of expression and inspiration for me.
My mom, Jacob, and music have all inspired me to be where I’m at today. There are other motivators in my life, but those are the three most important, and they will always be with me. That’s all I could ever ask for.

Motivation
It’s 7:00 in the morning, and my phone rings. It’s my alarm. I grab my phone and call my boyfriend to get him up and ready for school. My day brightens up by the four words I love to hear each and every morning, “I Love You Babe”, Jason tells me. After getting up and getting ready, I head downstairs to eat breakfast with my family. But before I eat, I always have to pray to God to thank him for letting me be here and giving me the things I love the most and need in order to get through life. At the end of day, I have my music I like to listen to that helps me get through my problems.
My boyfriend, Jason Hastie-Alvarez, is my number one priority and motivation. He’s the reason why I’m still in school to get my diploma. Whenever I’m down or have family problems, I can always run to Jason and know that he’ll be there for me and he always finds a way to make me feel better about myself. Throughout my life I had a lot of drama and people who didn’t like me, but Jason made me realize that there will always be someone or something trying to stop me from shining or getting where I want to be because someone else is jealous. He motivates me to get up every single morning and do what I have to do to be successful.
My second motivation is my family. Even though we may argue a lot, we still love each other very much. Sometimes I feel as if my mom and dad get angry and get on me for no reason. But they do that not because I did something wrong but because they love me, and they want what’s best for me. My brothers and sisters motivate me to do what’s right and not to do wrong, which means to not do drugs and finish school, college, and get a decent job.
In the end of the day, my music is what keeps me from breaking down and going crazy. It helps me to think straight. Music is life. Whenever I get stuck and can’t really express how I’m feeling, I turn on my music to help me find the right words. But most importantly, God is my other motivation. Without God there would be no me, Jason, family, or music. He made me appreciate life even more than I already have. God motivated me to live life to the fullest without any regrets.
Jason, family, music, and God are all big motivators in my life. They give me the energy to get up every morning and work toward positive goals. Also, they help me to stay focused and to move in positive directions. These are all important motivators in my life that helped me get to where I am today.

* My Positive Support *
Most successful people have structures in their lives that keep them focused on their goals and keep them moving in positive directions. The things that keep me focused on my goals are my family first and foremost, my new religion I’m studying, and having and looking forward to my successful future.
My family is very important to me. I am a very family oriented person. Without my family, I don’t know where I would be today. To me having family that loves you, keeps your head on straight, and it keeps you focused. It also makes you a better person just knowing you have people that love and care about you. Family is the only thing I know. My family isn’t that big (well my immediate family) because it’s only my granny, mother, auntie, brother, cousin, and nephew. We are inseparable. (Even the distance of me and my mom living in Sacramento now and them still being down in the Bay Area can’t keep us apart.) It’s hard loosing family members, but a couple years ago, we lost my uncle and months after that my grandma. We have always been very close and losing them only made us closer. The thing I like most about having family is no matter what the situation, my family isn’t going to steer me in the wrong direction, or judge the paths I do decide to take, they are there to support me no matter what the situation is. Seeing people who don’t have family and the things they go through makes me appreciate my family even more. Just being around them makes me happy! It’s important to stay connected with the people you know and love; it makes you a better person overall.
Another thing that has made me change my outlook on life a lot is my Bible studies that I have every Wednesday. I say this because before my Bible studies, I had a different view, and I didn’t see things the way I see them now. I know this because before, I let other things block my view and get in the way. I didn’t really care as much about my future and where I was going. It just seemed like I had started living day by day not caring about the important things, the things that meant the most to me, I just put behind and started letting my friends influence me into things. I stopped going to school; I had drama with boys; and my priorities just weren’t straight. I think it was only because I didn’t have positive people or enough positive people around. Nobody was guiding me into a different or better direction, and I let the bad things rub off on me. Before my Bible studies, I saw nothing wrong with the things I was doing because I didn’t know any better. I had only seen things one way. I think what really drew me closer to God, is losing someone very special too me and me not knowing why? Or why did these kinds of things even happened at all? I’ve always been a smart kid, before I started engaging into peer pressure and started getting into boys; I always got good grades in school. Boys were the last thing on my mind, and family was all I knew. But having my Bible studies has really helped me see that my family should always be number one and that school is going to get me far in life. I have really seen improvements. Most of my bad habits have changed, and if I stay around positive people and positive things I will remain positive. I will stay focused.
Wanting to be successful has always been a goal. Since I was little I knew I wanted something out of this life. When I was in kindergarten I used to say I wanted to be a nurse. Of course I no longer want to become one, but I’ve just always wanted to do something. It wasn’t just always play time with me, and that’s the way it is still today. Being successful in my future is important to me because I want to be able to take care of my family and pay them back for everything they gave me. I want to do something big in life. I don’t want to be laying around doing absolutely nothing. I want something out of this time I am given. Being successful to me isn’t about the money and the fame; it’s about achieving a goal I have set. I don’t want to see my life go down the drain, and I don’t want to lose my future over little things I can change in time. So I let the little things go and let the important things come back. That is the best thing I could’ve done. For some people it has always been there and some people have to go through things to get it. Some may never get it. Happy I know what I want to do at this point and time in my life because it’s something I can take along with me everywhere I go. Nothing can change that because it’s in my heart.
With the three things I have set to become a successful person, I can’t see anything getting in the way. With God, my family, and a set goal, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. With God in my life, who is a powerful God, my family behind me that care, and believing I can have a successful future, I can achieve my goals in life. If I believe in something enough I will soon achieve it. I will just have to remain positive! I might slide off track a little, but that’s just a learning experience. It’s going to make me want to get closer to reaching my goals even more.

UPHILL
People have different views on life. I look at life as an uphill battle. At the top of this hill is my goal for happiness and success with anything I put my mind to. But just like anyone else, I need motivation and/or people who are positive motivators by my side. For example my Mom, my brother, and my motivation in my music are very helpful on my hike to the top of my steep hill of life.
My mother has always been a very strong motivator in my life, whether it was in sports or music. Last year during basketball season the basketball coach came to me asking me to try out for the team. So I tried out and made the team. However I wasn’t playing as much as I thought I would be. So after a couple of games I told her I was thinking about quitting. She wouldn’t let me. I think that was to keep me motivated to try harder during practices to prove myself on the team. My mother also motivates me in music. She’s always asking how the music is going and also supports me 100%. When someone believes in you as much as my mom believes in me, that is a great way to motivate someone to keep striving for excellence.
Motivators are in my family, like my brother. My brother has also been a great motivator in my life. He has motivated me to keep playing football this past season after my thoughts of possible, quitting the team. He taught me that I should never quit because in the future I would always wonder the question “What If?” After a long conversation, I decided to talk to my football coach and ask for a second chance. I stayed on the team and had a great year. Thanks to the motivation of my brother, he has made me mentally stronger. Just like my mother, he is also a great supporter in my music.
My music has been a motivation in my life period. My music is everything to me right now. I could be out in the streets committing crimes and getting in trouble with police, but instead I decide to stay home and in the studio with my spare time. My music is my motivation to a greater and happier life for my family and me. Other artists’ music is also very helpful to listen to if I am having a bad day because it just keeps me level headed and lets me know that there will be brighter and better days. I believe with music I will be able to reach the top of my hill of life.
My motivators and motivation with music will help me reach success. In my eyes life is an uphill battle, but with the right motivation I will be able to do anything I put at the top of that hill.

My Motivators in Life
Some people are motivated by different things. Some people are still trying to find out what motivates them. For me, I’m that person that knows. Music, family, and my girlfriend are my motivators in life.
Music helps me get through hard times. It’s a way I get away from the real world. It’s a way I can express my true feelings when something really bothers me. Often I sit and think about the good times I used to have with my mommy. But now I stay with my daddy, his wife, and her kids. Sometimes it really bothers me knowing that my daddy has became dad to four other kids. Music gives me time so I can clear my head and think things over. I know I can depend on music to help me calm my nerves.
I can also say the same about family. They teach me about life and the importance of school. My family pushes me to do better because they know I can go far in life with just a little help. My family is there when I need help and someone to talk to. They do this little thing called a family meeting to give everyone a chance to say what’s on their minds, plus we have family night so we can all bond together. Those really help me. I can never go wrong about family.
My girlfriend on the other hand is there to show me love and support. She is my best friend, and I can talk to her about anything. She picks me up when I’m down and keeps me moving with her smile. She pushes me just like my family but even harder. Once she told me not to call her until I finished my homework. She would go to all my classes to ask all my teachers what’s my homework for the night. When I got to school, she would make me show her my homework to make sure I did it. I know she only did that because she know I have what it takes to apply myself to whatever it is. She knows I have it in me to be whatever I want to be and I can be successful in life. She has been by my side through hard times and good times which is what makes me love her even more.
As you can see, being motivated by something can be very helpful in life. My three motivators are amazing in my life and are very important to me. So if you don’t have an idea about what motivates you, you might need to find them. It really can help you when you feel like everything is coming down on you.

Motivations
I have this goal in life to be a successful person in society. I mean who doesn’t? But what exactly does a person need to reach their goals? For me, I need self determination, wealth, and my family.
I’ve made many mistakes in my lifetime. People make mistakes, but some don’t learn from them. Luckily, I did. I went from ground zero to the top floor in a time period of six months. Now I have goals and dreams and will do whatever it takes to reach them.
My strongest motivator would be myself. I am determined to be successful. When I feel down and out and want to give up, I think of all my family and friends lost to gang violence. I don’t want to end up like them so I push, pull, and strive to get through whatever I’m going through. I’ve been through a lot, and from each and every experience I’ve learned a valuable lesson. I have a good head on my shoulders and always keep a positive point of view. They say it’s a cold world out there, and when worst comes to worst, you have yourself.
Wealth would be my second motivator. I see nice things, and I want them. I want to be able to be independent and pay my own bills. I am a very selfish person and all the things I have didn’t come easily, I had to work for them. That’s why I’m so possessive of the things I have. I love money, and I love nice things. I will take care of business now, so in the future I will be wealthy.
Last but not least, my family does a great deal to support my decisions. Many family members have set both good and bad examples, which I learned from. Every day my dad calls to see how my day went and keeps me motivated. If I have a bad day he always has something to say to fix it. My family is always there for me; they always have positive things to say. They keep me straight and motivated.
So with my own secret to success: self determination, wealth, and my family, I will have no problems reaching my goals and dreams. Nothing will stop me. Anyone can reach their own goals; you just have to be motivated to do so. I encourage everyone to find their own motivators.

Everyone has to have someone or something that keeps them motivated. The people that keep me motivated and in the zone are my mom, my grandma, and my uncle. They give me the strength that I need to get ahead in life and in school. My mom, my grandma, my sister, and my uncle have done so much for me even though I didn’t deserve most of it. So let me tell you a little something about my motivators.
My first motivator is my mom. Every morning my mom has to go to work, except on Wednesdays. She works at AT&T, and she tries to work as much as she can so she can take care of our family. When my mom doesn’t have enough money to get me what I need or to take care of our family, we always have someone that will chip in and help us out, and that’s where my grandmother comes in.
My grandmother is my second motivator. My grandma has worked all of her life. When I say all her life, she even worked in cotton fields. Now she works at Kaiser Permanente in the north area. My grandma is 62 years old, and she plans on retiring when she is 65. When I need help on my homework such as world history, I know exactly who to go to. She inspires me to stay in school, and I thank her for that.
My third motivator is my uncle J.D. D. He is one of my rich uncles who owns their own business. My uncle does so much for me. He inspires me to stay in church and to stay in school. It’s because of him I’m here today. He has been like a father figure to me ever since I was born because I never had a stable relationship with my real father. He takes me to church whenever I need a ride even though he lives in Stockton. Because of the things that he does for me, I love him even more.
All three of my motivators have been with me through the tough times and the best times. I know we all have our ups and downs, but they keep me motivated and inspired. They all tell me to never give up on anything, and to keep my hopes high. If it wasn’t for those kind words, I don’t know where I would be today. They also tell me to have big dreams and to think big and maybe one day I will be big. I love all of them for believing in me and for trusting me.

Motivators In My Life
Everyone has people and things in their lives that motivate them. My motivators are my mom, my brother and basketball. Some motivators can be peers, historical figures or Barack Obama.
My mom is one of my biggest motivators. When I feel like giving up, she is there to tell me what I need to do to get better. Even though I’ve done some bad things, she still loves me and helps me never to make those mistakes again. She is a real big motivator in school because she wants to see me succeed and have the finer things in life. We have been through a whole lot together and even though we have our arguments and disagreements, we still try to help each other. My mom and brother are big motivators in my life.
My brother has been a big part of my life. We have been together since we were little kids. I can talk to my brother about anything because I know he would keep it real. He tells me I need to leave the girls alone and focus on school because girls will always be here. We really help each other out by giving advice, but he just really likes looking out for me.
Basketball is very helpful for motivation. It gives me a time to think. I’ve been playing basketball since I was a kid. It helps me think and really get my head straight about a lot of things. I love playing because I just get time to myself and quiet, and I get a chance to do what I love. Every once and a while I’ll play and talk with other people because I can also see how they are doing and see if they have advice for me.
Everybody has things or people that motivate them. I feel that without people there to motivate me, its hard to stay on the right track and get where I’m trying to go in life.
