  I learned the importance of having plans for my future, and also I realized about all the skills that a person needs to have before getting into any career. This information will help me out to see if I have the skills to succeed and any career that I choose and prepare to face the real world like an adult. I do recommend this project to other students because this will help them to realize the skills they have and make sure that they make the right choices about their future. Some students will just pick the career that they think they want and don’t know what the career is about, and they’ll have to live with it the rest of their lives.

  I learned from this project that it will take more to reach my goal in the field of work I want. The project helped me realize that I need to do a lot more then just high school or community college, but I do have the skills and knowledge to work in that field. I plan on getting a Bachelors Degree in fine arts and getting a job in Film and Video Editing. I also learned that the starting salary is less then my lifestyle expenses would be, but it wouldn’t take long to reach that goal. I do recommend this project to other students because it helps you figure out what you have to accomplish before you reach your goal and to be successful in the real world.

  From this project I have learned a lot. I learned that there a lot of jobs to chose from to help you get started with your future that’s based on my interest. When I was looking through the jobs it showed what classes you will need to take and the skills you will need to learn. I thought that was a good idea for them to do that because I would know what to go to school for and what kind degree of you will have to get. The career zone job description also tells you what kind of knowledge and education you need. That’s a good thing to because you don’t want to be stuck learning things that’s not for the job then you have to take a whole other class over and you don’t want that.

  I do recommend that other students to do this project because in the future it could help you. When I was doing the project, I was thinking of really going to school for some of these jobs. Then, if you want to know about where you would be in life the site also has an reality check you can go to and see how much money you would be spending if you have a family and if you’re living on your own. It helped me in a way and I know that it could help others too.

  The things that I learned from this project was how life is for grown ups, nd how hard it really is to live on your own. This project has many specific things that you need to know so when you are older you will know what is it really like in the real world. Living in an apartment in San Francisco for all the salary is about $ 69,792.00. And that is a lot of money just for and apartment just imagine what the cost of a house would be and how much you will be paying for bills and other things. It was a big reality check for me, because I wanted to move into and apartment and with all that money spent what will I have for my self? Nothing because all my money will be paying bills and rent. The things that interest me the most cost a lot of money as well. There are many things required to become the things that you want to be and a lot of training to go with it. You have to have lots of knowledge to be the things that you and I want to be in life. There are 190 jobs per year that are available due to employee turnover. That is a lot of jobs. It helped me in many ways like it prepared me for the things that I have to have when I want my own place and how much it will cost. It helped me know how much training I will need to go threw so when I go to college I will know the things that need to be required to get what I want and to be what I want in life. It helps so prepare you for the things that you need to know and, didn’t know. The cost of cosmetology is $30,259 and that is a lot of money. It will take a lot to reach my goals but in the end it is all worth it!!! And yes I do recommend this to other students because it is a reality check for students that don’t know how much there parents are spending on bills and us kids are living for free.

  I have learned a lot of things from this project. As an example, more women are working now then in the past. Also that most immigrants that are coming to this country do not have a high school diploma, but yet at the same time recent immigrants 25-34yrs of age are more that twice as likely as their US-born counterparts to have a masters or higher degree. Another thing that I learned about were jobs, some of the jobs I found out about were truck drivers and nursing aides, along with other jobs have the largest number of injuries and illnesses thee require time away from work.
  This project also helped me with some things I may need in the future and will use. One of this things were it let me see what kind of jobs are good for me and that are in my interest, a job that I liked was the elementary school teacher, it showed the skills required and the type of degree I need for it, it also showed how much you would win annually which was pretty cool. Another thing that this project helped me with was to see how my expenses were going to be monthly, which was another thing I really liked, my expenses came out to be 3,492 dollars a mouth which meant that I had to have a job that paid me 55,872 dollars per year, along with this it showed me some jobs that made this much money annually. Some of the jobs in this were layers, veterinarians, health specialist teacher, postsecondary, and the ones that interested me the most were nursing instructor and teacher jobs. Also I would recommend this project to other students to help them know what they want in life and what they would like to become.

  I learned from this project that its going to take me a lot more time than I thought it would to accomplish my goals. I also learned that if I want to be someone in life I have to do a lot of work. This project helped me realize that a simple high school diploma won’t get me into a good job especially if my expenses are this high. This project helped me identify the skills I need because now I know what category to go to since that’s the whole piont of this. I definitely learned a lot more skills I didn’t kno how hard it is to try and get a good job. I definitely recommend this project to all the students because we as teens feel that the world is ours but it’s how well we handle it that matters besides we all have dreams and to catch them we have to try our best to succeed. Plus this project helps you figure out what catergory you’re interested in a makes things a lot more easy.

  This project has helped me realize the steps that I need to take in order to reach my goals in life. Getting where I want to get in the future is going to take a lot more than I thought it did. A lot more school and money is going to be needed in order for me to get where I want to get in life. Another thing it helped me with was, realizing how the real world works without depending on your parents. I didn’t know how much my monthly and yearly expenses were until I did this project. In order to keep up with my current lifestyle I need a very well paying job. My monthly salary needs to be at least 4,899 and my yearly salary needs to be at least 79,000. The most important thing I learned from this project was that I have more than one option. All my life I thought the only job that matched up with me was a lawyer, but after taking the survey a lawyer was no where in the list of jobs that matched up with my personality; my first two options were a sociologist and a psychiatrist. Before this I never looked into these two options, but now I’m considering both of them. I would highly recommend this project to anyone that’s planning on stabilizing their future. This project will help you come up with a plan for you and your future.

  This vocational career education was very helpful. It really did give me a reality check on life and the real world. It showed me how much I would be spending on my basic necessities and also extra things i would want. What I liked best out of it, was that it even showed me what type of job I would nedd and how much i would need to make anually to be able to efford evrything. IT also gives you a budget on how much everything will cost you, so you can second guess if you may be going over board and wanting too much. And, as I think about it, it is very realistic. THe price ranges are accurate and reasonanble and it all just seemed to make sense. I’m glad I took the time to do this activity. This activity woke me up, made me re think about moving out early and being on my own at 17 with a baby. It gave me a complete different outlook on life, and when I would financially be ready to be outon my own. So, overall I’m glad I did this activity it helped me out a whole lot.

  While doing the Self Assessment and the Reality check I learned a lot about myself and about life. I would recommend this to any student who is stil confused about what they plan to do in the future.

  During the Self Assessment I learned that I am very artistic and being a lyricist and or a Musical Composer would match my interest the best. The Reality Check allowed me to choose my housing and things like that to give me an idea of what everything would cost, showing me that other jobs and a higher education may need to be an option as well.

  I love music and want to get into a profession that has something to do with it. Since the music industry is so hard to get into, the reality check showed me that if I were to just get more education that I would have a greater chance of earning good money in the future.

  I came to the conclusion of staying in school and to major in business and to just minor in musical engineering so I can do that on the side. So in the end I learned that I will need to get as much education as possible to live the way I want to. And that at first I will need to spend my money wisely.

  By doing this occupation research, I have learned that getting a good career will lead to living how I want. Having a minimum wage job will never get me to the lifestyle I dream about. Researching the career that I’m interested in helped me a lot to try to get there. I’ve learned what the job tasks were, what classes I need to take, and how much it will cost. It doesn’t seem that hard if I really try, also, the reality check part of this research made me realize that life will be hard and I would struggle on just a minimum wage job. Everything is expensive these days and an education is the best way to go! I would recommend this occupation research project to anyone who wants to know about a career that are interested in and how the future will be like if you had this dream career.

  This vocational career education was very helpful. It helped me realize all the things I have to do to successfully reach my goals. I would recommend another student to do this reality check, because it really helps you on what you want to do in the future.
  During this project I realized all the things I need when I’m living on my own. It also showed me what kind of job I want and that the job could support me. For all the things that I want to do in the future, its going to take me a long time of hard work to achieve those things. By doing this realty check now I know if the job I want to have its going to be right to cover all my expenses. I realize that im not going to be able to achieve all my goals with just a high school diploma, I know that I need to go to college so in the future my life is going to be easier so I don’t have to work in a job thats really hard and with a low pay. This project also helped me by showing me that I need to know how to spend my money wisely, and not to waste it on things I don’t need.

  I learned from this project what I really am interested in, I said I wanted to be a lot of things but what was really the job for me I did not know until I did this project. This project also helped me learn that there is a lot more after high school then just playing around and doing what I do now. After high school it’s time to buckle down and do big things like go to college so I can get a job to be able to support me, just myself alone is going to be hard but in future to be able to support a family will be even harder. I understand going to school can help a lot. Yes I recommend this project to other students because I think people in high school don’t really know how it is after high school maybe they have a general idea but there is so much more to it then just the general idea!!

  I’ve learned that the labor force is still growing. There are more women working today than in the past. About 60% of all women are in the labor force. The jobs that I want which are becoming cosmetologists and zoologists/veterinarians, I have to have understanding skills and I need a bachelor degree to get of these jobs. Some things I have notice about myself is I really don’t have good writing skills or good speaking skills.
  I would recommend this project to any student because it helps you fid out where you stand in any skill. It helps you prepare of future. It helps you find the type of job that might be good for you and it tells you what you need to do to get there. It also teaches you how to spend your money as in what kind of house you will be able to get with the job you are looking for. This project really helped me.

  This project was very helpful in planning my future. The project helped me to research my career. I also learn how the labor force can slow down. The labor force can cause high paying jobs or unemployment depending on how bad the labor force is. The project helped me to understand the labor force and understand your future depends on the career you choose because one day your company can have millions and the next day your company can be bankrupt.

  The project was useful for me because it help me identify the skills I need. I plan to be a pediatrician, lawyer, or a psychiatrist and the project educated me on how long it would take to reach my goal. The projects also help me realize it’s expensive to have a nice house, car, and family. The project prepared me for the future in multiple ways.

  I recommend this project to J.R.high school students because I would want them to know that they should start working hard as a freshman. I prefer them to start early because it’s easier than playing catch up.

  I have learned a lot from this project. The most important thing I learned is that there is much more to go through in life after high school. You need to know what you want to go to college for and what the best is for you. The way that this project helped me identify skills that I may need in the future is by realizing that you have to work for what you want in life, if you don’t work you don’t get to have what you want. If you want to live very well and have what you want the best way is to get a really good career go to college and graduate. I do recommend this project to other students because this project helped me and I’m sure it helped and will help other students to realize that going to college is the best thing they can do. This will also be good for younger kids to do, so they have an idea of what they would like to do for their future as well.

  Career Zone

  I learned what jobs would be better for me in life. The most important thing I learned is that there are so many jobs out there to get, but you just need education and the higher education you have the higher pay you will get. This career search helped me find a lot about myself and narrowed a lot of things down. This project helped me identify skills that I may need in the future by listing jobs that best fits my personality. Most important thing I learned is after high school is when life really starts. This career search helped me learn what I have to do to major in business. When I first started there were jobs I wouldn’t think of doing, but now that I started to think about life I was interested in most of the jobs that were listed. I would recommend this job search for every high school student and maybe younger because they can start thinking about it earlier in life and know what they to do in school.

  I’ve learned a lot from this project. I have learned a lot about were my future is heading. I learned a lot about cosmetology and entrepreneur. I learned that cosmetology pays well, also that I can live off that career and be happy with my life. I say that because, in cosmetology I can do different things that I enjoy such as hair, make-up and nails. I also learned a lot about being an entrepreneur. I learned that having a business of your own is not easy. You have to make sure you’re on top of your game and that you know every aspect of your business. With this project it helped me plan exactly what I wanted to do after high school. And that is to be a hairstylist and have a business of my own one day. I recommend this project to anyone who’s unsure of their career they want to do after high school and how much their going to be making, also where they want to live and everything.

  What I learned from this project is that the career you want to choose can be accomplished. This information also helps me out on the career classes to take and it tells you also the estimate of the annual salary. It also gives you a budget on how much everything costs and if you want to live on your own. Now these days everything is so expensive and the minimum wage wont get you as far as having a good career. I also learned that living on your own is not that easy as you may think, it takes a lot of effort to succeed. The skills include communicating with others and help them in need. Which I can do. I would recommend this project to others because it helps you out on what you might want as your career and it shows in some detail how long the classes will take. This project is also very helpful and you learn a lot. Also because if you’re interested in a career and you want to accomplish your goal you can do it.

  I learned that there’s nothing free in life. You have to work for what ever you want. It might be hard at the beginning, but In the end it will be worth it because you will have your life set up. The career assignment helped me in a lot of ways by showing me what I have to do to achieve my goal to be successful in life. Its going to take a lot of school, A lot of effort from me, but it’s what I want in life because it is what I like to do. That means a better paying job in the future. I have to put 100% of my energy and time in getting into what ever I want. In order to become a mechanic I will have to learn parts of a car what tools and when do I need them and for what I need them. I think more people should do this because they will realize a lot of things they have to do and how much effort they need to become somebody in life. It will open up there eyes to different careers they never thought of before and what training they will need. It will help them make something out of their lives

  I think that Calvine High School career vocational education really helped me with choosing the right career for me. It also showed me a big reality check in the kind of life I want to live my lifestyle. This is why I think that the program helped me out a lot.
  What I learned from this project is that I have skills for the career that I chose. It really gave me an idea of what I want to do in the future. Knowing the careers that I have the potential to become a lawyer or criminal investigator (FBI special agent), is a good way for to get my inspiration to reach my goal.
  How I was able to find out these careers is that I already knew what u was interested in. That helped me in choosing the best answer for questions that fitted my description for what I want to do for a career. Just like in the questionnaire when they asked me certain questions that’s asked different kind of subjects for careers. Such as legal, human recourses, engineering and technology, health, graphic designing, etc. I already knew that the subject fitted for me was legal.
  My opinion about the program is that I really enjoyed my experience in it and also that it’s helpful for students to have an option of what career they want to do. The only problem about the program was the reality check. Because the way it showed the price for housing, entertainment, transportation, and etc is not true for what kind of recourses that you use for all those things, so to me those prices aren’t always true. But at least I was glad to see the total earnings I’ll need to live the lifestyle I chose so other words I better become a lawyer if I want to live a six-figures lifestyle.
  Overall, I enjoyed my experience in this career training packet I was able to see how our economy is doing, how the workforce is changing, and how the change in minorities in the workforce over the years. It also gave me a chance to know that I can succeed and reach this career I choose if I try my hardest and strive for the highest. I was even able to see the education I’ll need to reach this career, the wages, and the requirements. So if I know that I will be able to reach that goal if I work to the fullest and I know I will become a lawyer or criminal investigator.

  This project taught me a lot about how much bills actually cost and how I plan to pay for them and when. This project also taught me that it will take a lot of school and money to reach my goals.The amount of money it cost for me just to survive for a year before even starting school is $31,722.35. The starting wages for a surgeon is roughly $103,603 a year. I plan to use financial aid, scholarships, and grants to help me pay for tuition, heath care, transportation and a lot of other expenses. When I do finish on the job training and schooling I will have to pay back that money with interest though it won’t take nearly as long as it took to get there.The field that I wish to pursue takes about twelve years to become a professional. I would need my bachelor’s Degree then graduate school to become and M.D. or a J.D. I plan to take classes at a city college first then transfer to a medical school like U.C. Davis and continue progressing.I do recommend this project to other students because not only does it inform students fully on jobs their interested in, it also shows and tell them what they need to do in order to reach their goal. I would also recommend this project for who live with there parents and honestly don’t realize how much it cost to live.

  I learned from the vocational career project that if I’m going to want to live life on my own I’m going to need a good job, and a good education. I already had an idea that I wanted to be a personal trainer but this helped me decide that this is what I want to do. The skills I need are communication and speaking skills because in order to be a personal trainer I need to be able to communicate with people and teach them things. I need to know the anatomy of muscles because I’m going to have to explain to them about how the muscles work. I need an associate degree to pursue my career. I would recommend this to other students becuase it can help give them an idea on what they want to do with their lives, what classes they need to take, how much they will make and how much money they need to make it on their own. Overall I think this project was interesting and I learned what I need to do in order to be succesful in my life and it also let me know a lot more.

  Career Project

  What I learned from this project is that everything I want is more expensive than I thought it would be. If I want to live the way I want to live, I have to go to a four year college and study in physician assistant in order to get well paid. I learned about the skills about the skills I would need when I looked up the information about the careers that were suggested based on my interest survey and the reality check assignments. I learned that if I want to be a physician assistant I need certain skills which are active listening, speaking, active learning and also knowledge of medications based on my interest survey and the reality check assignments. I recommend this to other students because most young adults don’t know how expensive living on your own is. They can find out types of jobs and education they need to live the life they want.

  I think the Calvine High School Career Zone vocational education really was a good idea. Some of the things I learned from this project were, how the “Labor Market” is today, what I need to do to make myself more prepared, and it really taught me about myself. “The Assess Yourself” really helped me and gave me an idea of what I want to do with my life after high school. “The Occupational Research” really helped me understand the job definitions that I need to know. It help me with knowing what skills to know, what tasks I need to know, the knowledge I need to have, what school classes I would have to take and what the wages are paid. Another thing I learned from this project is on how to use the skills I already know for the field I am trying to enter.
  Some tasks that I would be doing are, helping clients with rent or lease properties, secure construction or purchase financing with their own firm or morgage company, help show clients property and there values, etc.…. The Career Zone packet also helped me with what I want to be. It taught me that I should have certain skills, which are active listening, speaking, mathematics, active learning and also knowledge of the field I am go to enter. The last thing I want to talk about is the “Reality Check”. It was definitely a REALITY CHECK! The reason I say this is because it really helped me on knowing what the price ranges are, if I want to live a good life I need to be prepared for the real world.
  Yes, I would recommend this Career Zone project to other students.   Calvine’s Career Zone was very informational because it help me narrow down my career options. First you have to take a test to get you started in deciding your job best suitable for you. Using this web site also helps show the amount of money that you may be earning with your job. It give you a description of the responsibilities and expectations for the chosen job. It also explains the education needed to obtain the job. The website helped me determine which career is more suitable for me, also it showed me the amount of money to thrive not just survive. The significants of this website varies depending on who uses it because of the job outcomes. Also how much money it says that you’re going to spend is very misleading since barley anyone jumps into a single apartment alone. With all the information and the way its set up its bound to help certain people out on what they want to do. This site defiantly gave have me a bigger picture on the working world and economic spendings.

  I learned a lot from this project. I learned about all the different types of jobs available to me. Just to name a few: Political Scientists, Physician Assistants, Radiological Technicians and Medial Assistants. I ended up choosing two jobs to research; I chose Radiological Technician and Medical Assistants. I picked these two jobs because I like the pay for both jobs, from entry level to experience. Also I pick these jobs because my mother recommended them to me, and she seems to know what’s best for me.

  Also I learned from this project the importance of saving money. Choosing the essentials you need compared to the material goods you want is important. Honestly, living out here in Elk Grove/Sacramento can be pretty expensive. That’s where a good education comes into play. Going to college is now more important to me than it ever was. If I were to go to vocational schools or get my associates degree or bachelors I could get a job in almost anything I am interested in. Honestly, a high school education now in this time and economy won’t get you a job that will support you. College is now even more important to me, because I want to survive in this world.

  I recommend this project to anybody serious about their life now and for their future later. This project shows how important school really is to you. It shows you all the possibilities out there for you. It’s like this: a high school diploma isn’t really enough to help you out when looking for a career, you need a lot more. This project shows the importance of your future and how important planning is.

  This project made me realize how important it is to have plans for the future, it’s not only about graduating from high school. Its about having plans after that. High school is just one more step on way to success. This project also showed me how there is lots of others careers to choose from that can be good for you, depending on your skills and knowledge you have. It also made me realize there are lots of others skills like education you made need for one career, depending on the career you choose from.

  For my career, Cosmetology, I need reading comprehensive, speaking, and knowledge monitoring due to the fact that this industry requires lots of speaking out to others and monitoring other peoples artistic equipment and your personal. For this career I am going to also need a high school diploma and required vocational training or job related course work that will prepare me for my career. This will train me on how to apply makeup perfectly to performers, and teach me to work with all different kinds of designs that will help me cutting hair, do nails and everything else that has to do with beauty.

  I recommend this project to other students not only because it can help you to choose a career, but it can make you see there is other type of careers you may be good at that you never had a clue about. This project also lets you look into other careers that maybe interested to you. It can really help you set your future straight and make you come up with a plan for you and your future.

  After doing this project I had several different options and I thought the best one for me would to be a bartender. A bartender is someone who mixes and serves drinks to patrons either directly or through wait staff. Another task for a bartender would be to supervise the work of bar staff and other bartenders and also to arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays. To be a bartender, you need to have at least a high school diploma, and you may need some vocational training. You also need to attend bartending school.

  A bartender needs to be able to create drink recipes, prepare appetizers, and plan bar menus. The average bartender will make around 16,897 a year on entry levels; experienced bartenders will make around 22,359 a year. In the future I would like to be a bartender but not once I graduate high school because you need to be at lease 21 to serve or handle alcohol. So I think that I will attend college for a different career before I start bartending. By doing this research on this career choice it helped me understand better at what I need to do to achieve my goal of becoming a bartender.

  I think that every student should do this project because it helped me out a lot when it came to picking a career that really interested me and it showed me what I have to do to reach my goal or finding a career that I enjoy.

  What I learned from this project was that responsibility is important. It starts when you find out what you want your career to be, and begin your plans for the future. This gives me the idea that I may want to finish high school, pick out what college that I may want to attend. Once I figure out the main keys I may want to find my major and the path I want to follow. I learned many better ways to identify the way I want to live once I begin my journey through law school. I also learned how to save money and how to start a successful life.

  I think that this project may help me identify skills that I may need in my future. It shows me how to be responsible, and how it may help me get my future plans on track .This really shows me things in which may have me thinking if this is the right path I want to be on. This project shows me the better way to go about things that I may need for further circumstances. I think this is a good way too identify what path that I should follow.

  Yes, I recommend this project to other students because I think this shall be a good way for students too find what they actually want to go about in there future. Many students are not thinking about there future right now, this may help them think about what they want to go forth in. I think that this will help students look at school as a reality, and that school is no joke. I think that if students use this project it may help them in the future and to know what they may need for their career in the best ways. It may help them realize if the career they have chosen is actually realistic and will get them were they may need to go. I think that if this project put more pressure on me and gave me an understanding that it can help many others.

  I learned a lot from this career/vocational project. This project taught me to be more prepared for the future. I now know more about the career fields that i’m interested in pursuing. I know more about what’s going on in the career field I would like to pursue. I know more about the living expenses I’m going to have to deal with also. I also learned more about living expenses. I learned that even living at home with no bills and very medium maintance, it still will cost a lot of money to maintain my life. In the career since of this project I’m interested in computers or business as a career.

  In the computer field, they usually require a 4 year bachelor’s degree and in the business field you usually need a 4 year bachelor’s degree. In the computer field I would want to be a programmer or web designer because in order to complete the tasks that job requires you must be creative and artistic and that’s what I am. In the business field I will like to pursue is business analyst and managing because I like to be in active, think on your feet job environment. Both of those jobs pay in a range of $65,000-$95,000 starting. The skills I may need in the future is creativeness, mathematical literate, and quick critical thinking. Reason being to make decisions in computer programming and/or web design you must be creative enough to create new, unique, never before seen designs and programs. In the business field you must be creative enough to find ways to make the business better and easier. In the computer field numbers are always involved because computers use a language called “binary numbers” which is a sequence of 1’s and 0’s, In the business field you always need math because your always dealing with money and statistics.

  I recommend this project for anyone who believes they have a future and believe there here for a purpose because it helps you get a clearer understanding of the “real” world and aids you in organizing your future.

  I have learned many skills and some knowledge on what I need to accomplish to get to where I want to be. For instance, the skills that I would need to have are critical thinking, judgment and decision making, and management of financial resources. The knowledge I would need to have is education, bachelor’s degree and training if I were to choose to become a financial manager. The career that I would do is to be an Agent and Business manager for professional athletes. This occupation interests me because I get to work with professional athletes and I get to help them with their contract decisions. The skills that I would need for this career are negotiation, speaking, and coordination. The knowledge I would need to have is admininistration and management, economics and accounting, and sales and marketing. The education I would need is a associates degree and a bachelors degree.

  This project helped me discover many new opportunities that I may have in the near future. The opportunities that it has showed me are I learned that the career that I thought that I wanted to do will not fit the lifestyle, so I cannot go into fashion unless I choose to do that on the side. I recommend this project to other students because it helps you discover a lot of new opportunities such as what type of education you would need to get the career that you choose. It also teaches you about reality. It gives you an idea of how much money you need to make a year to fit the lifestyle you have chosen.

  I learned from the vocational career project that money can make your life easier with the more you have. Money can get you what you want in life. You can’t just all of a sudden get, make, or have money because you have to work to earn a living. The two jobs that I chose were psychiatrist and anesthesiologist. A bachelor’s degree is the minimum formal education required for these occupations. The skills I need are critical thinking, active listening, and reading comprehension. Those are subjects that as of right now I have trouble with, so I need to step it up and learn what I need so I could work in one of those careers. That way I can pay for the things I chose on this project. You need a high paying job to make big money so you can support yourself, pay for luxurious items, and not worry about not having enough. It helped me realize that money is never handed to you, but you have put your brain that you were born with to use. I do recommend this project to others because it will help them realize what they need to do so they can stop doing the wrong ways to make money like hustling or selling drugs, or asking their parents to lend them money. The young adults today need to learn to be independent. By completing this project they will be able to see the different opportunities that will help them in life.

  From this project I learned that education is no joke, a high school diploma does not cut it anymore you have to do better then that if you want to do something with your life. It gave me a better understanding of what life will be after high school because it gives you and idea of how much money you will need to be earning in order to support yourself and it really opens your eyes.

  This project showed me the skills that I’m going to need in order to achieve my goal of what I want to be in life. I would like to be a Mechanical Engineer; in order for me to achieve this I will need a four year bachelor’s degree and several years of work-related experience. I would need math skills, critical thinking skills, science skills, reading comprehension skills, and active listening skills. I would need knowledge in Engineering and Technology, which I don’t know that much about but that’s why college is important.My plan after high school is to get started on my future by working in the day and taking classes in the evening at a community college that will prepare me to be a Mechanical Engineer.

  I would recommend this project to students because it really opens your eyes and gives you a broader look on what you need to do to get yourself in the right path to the career you want. It gives you background information about your career choice and it shows you what skills and education you need to be successful.

  In the process of doing the packets on jobs I have learned that women have grown a lot in the years. Also, that if you want to go somewhere in your life then pushing forward and making goals for your self is the right path to choose. You have to earn your high school diploma and earn a degree in college. These steps can make it a lot easier for you. Women are now able to get jobs and make names for them selves. Back in the day, they were only good to be house wives and to take care of the children. I am so glad that the generation is the changing the way that we perceive women and the impact that they have on the world.

  School has many challenges and obstacles, but in the real world getting a job is even harder than some people suspect. It used to be that you could get some jobs with out a high school diploma, and now you can not even get a job at a fast food chain with out the diploma. It is getting harder for even educated people who have degrees to find a suitable job for their needs. You will earn more money and survive a little better once you get a diploma. I want to be a cosmetologist, and that is not the best job in the world, but it is something that I know that I am good at. My job research indicates that you must go to college, have an on-the-job experience or an associates degree. Some fields also require you to have a bachelor’s degree. Also you will have to have two years training in the field by a professional. I plan on going to C.R.C, specializing in cosmetics and earning my license and bachelors degree to move on to a high paying job.

  Being on your own is a big responsibility. There are bills to pay and certain necessities a person can not go without. Certain bills need to be paid, for electricity and water, and food is a major factor on what people like to spend their money on. I have learned that people need to be more conservative to help maintain money in their bank accounts and or pockets. I know that I am going to want to move in with my boyfriend when I am eighteen, even though I know that may not seem like the best decision, I now know all the precautions that I must take and what is like to be on your own. This has really opened to the responsibilities that I am going to have to take on.

  I want to succeed in life and learning these skills will help. I am going to be in college and earn my degree. Starting a career is going to be so much fun, it may not being the easiest part of my life, but I know that I will have no regrets doing something that I do so well. I am so thankful that being a woman I am being given the opportunities to make my dreams come true. I can honestly say that I am glad that did all these packets and learned all the things that I have. I would have went into being an adult still being so naïve and thinking everything was going to go the way that I wanted it to. This has really helped me.

  This project is a great way to nudge a student in the right direction for his/her adulthood. It helps give you ideas on what your life goals should be, it can outline how your spending habits will be and gives you job listings with that pay rate.

  I have learned that if I want to live the way I want, I would have to work hard and further my educational career. For instance, for the job Archivist, I would have to get a four year bachelor’s degree, and I would need several years of work-related experience. I would appraise, edit, and direct safekeeping of permanent records and historically valuable documents. The more experienced workers earn $54,114 annually. This amount is a little less than what I really want, but it is more than enough for me to get by and live the way I need to.

  I recommend this project to other students because it definitely made me think about my future. It shows the students that there are so many jobs out there that they could be interested in. With a plethora of options like this you could learn about new things you’ve never even thought of, you could get your dream job. Knowing what jobs are out there and learning how to obtain them is a good way to expand your horizon and to live happily and on your own.

  One of the first things that I was able to learn from this project is how to plan out goals and think through process. It helped me recognize what type of work that I am interested in the today’s labor force. The project also has good insight on certain things and criteria’s that are required such as education degrees that are needed, skills, and college years needed.

  As for me, and what I would like to pursue in is mechanical engineering. It requires 4yrs for a masters degree and at least a one year of on the job experience. Classes that are needed are Textile sciences, solar energy Technology, and Mechanical Technology. Skills require things such as mathematics, critical thinking, science, and active listening.

  This project definitely helped me think through on what I would like to do as far as my career, and I would most certainly recommend this project for other students. Reasons for because it gives you a chance to start setting goals on were you would like to be in life, also vital information on how to go about pursuing it. I’ve learned how to think decisions through and planning which makes stuff a lot easier.

  By doing this project I learned what I would have to do to achieve the job that I want in the future. I need to gain a higher knowledge than just high school or community college. Almost all of the careers that I chose needed me to have a four year bachelor’s degree and some on the job experience. The project also showed me the classes and training I would need to get the career that I like. Some of those skills are critical thinking active listening and active learning. It also showed me other careers that would interest me.

  Those careers were film and video director and graphic design. I never really looked in to those career fields before, but this project showed me what the job was about. That was pretty cool to me, because this project showed me some new occupations that I would never have thought of going in to. Like theater design sound engineer or fashion design.

  I recommend this project for other students not only because it helps you with planning out how you would achieve the career you pick, but it also broadens your choice of career by showing other ones that would interest you. So if you don’t achieve the job that you want the most you will know that you still have other options toward success. It also shows you that even if you don’t get into a four year collage there are always vocational schools to still help achieve your goal.

  Career Zone

  I learned in this project that careers are hard to achieve and take many steps to be even qualified for that certain career you want. This project helped me to find out what skills I needed for being a sheriff like active listening, critical thinking, writing, speaking, or reading comprehension. I also need to go to classes such as criminal justice and police science there programs that prepare individuals to perform the duties of police and public security officers. Just like if I wanted to be a bartender I need active listening, speaking, mathematics, critical thinking, or reading comprehension skills.

  I also need some vocational training or a job related course work and I will need an associate or bachelors degree. The reality check showed me how expensive it would be to live the way I want to. It really opened my eyes because I never thought I needed to make so much money to live. I realize now that I may have to lower my standards or wait a little longer until I get a little more education.

  I recommend this project to other students especially if they don’t really know how to pursue their career or what skills are needed for the career they want to be in. In this project you will have to take a test that tells you what you are most interested in and the jobs that match your interests. This is important because people want jobs that they like and pays really well, it makes them happy and want to get out of bed everyday to go to work.
